True Blossom is a reproduction of an original Cyanotype.
The original was created from flowers grown in a field in Tyrol, Austria. After they have been carefully dried, they were used to create unique Cyanotypes that come with a "vanished frame" effect.
Here's why I think flower Cyanotypes are timeless and always elegant:
The Aesthetic: when flowers are captured in cyanotype, their details and delicate shapes create a mesmerising and ethereal quality that transcends trends and time periods.
Nostalgic Feel: Flowers have the unique ability to evoke emotions and memories. When immortalized in cyanotypes, they become a medium through which viewers can connect with their own experiences.
Versatility: Flower cyanotypes can be presented in a wide range of styles and compositions. Whether they are arranged in intricate patterns or showcased as single blooms, the versatility of flowers in cyanotype allows for endless creative possibilities, ensuring their relevance in various artistic contexts.
Well-being: Studies have shown that exposure to nature, even in the form of artwork, can reduce stress and promote relaxation. Flower cyanotypes can contribute to a calming atmosphere in your home.
About the technique:
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that dates back to the 19th century. It involves coating a surface, typically paper or fabric, with a light-sensitive solution containing ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide. When an object or a photographic negative is placed on the coated surface and exposed to UV light, a chemical reaction occurs, turning the exposed areas into a deep blue color while the unexposed areas remain white. This creates a distinctive blue and white image, known for its vintage and ethereal quality, making cyanotype a unique and enduring artistic technique.
About the reproduction print:
The master's edition, off-white, archival museum-quality paper, is the superior choice for art enthusiasts who appreciate world-class quality to enjoy artworks most luxuriously.
Features:
The 250 gsm/ 110lb paper is perfect for fine art, designed to last for years without losing its original beauty. The matte paper is uncoated and natural white (off-white).
With alkaline papermaking technology, this poster is acid-free, meaning the pH of the pulp that is used to form the paper is above 7 (neutral). The paper is also buffered with an alkaline reserve, such as calcium carbonate, to neutralize acid compounds absorbed from the atmosphere or formed through natural aging. This ensures that your poster will last many years without any yellowing or discoloration.
The poster is free from or low in OBA (optical brightener additives). This ensures that the natural white color of the paper remains consistent under different lighting conditions. In contrast, the color of papers that contain optical brighteners can shift depending on the light source. Additionally, the color of OBA-free paper remains more consistent over time so that you can enjoy the poster for years without any shifts.
FSC-certified paper or equivalent certifications depending on regional availability. It’s better for the people and the planet.
